Though they probably are overkill, I love using the squeegee at home, even for smaller windows. It just seems to dry much better as long as you're careful about drips. Nice advice about the ShamWow...damn infomercials.

I'm a fan of straight white vinegar in a spray bottle. For cleaning household, and automotive windows. It works great, because the acidic content of the vinegar cuts grease and breaks up water spots.

I am also a fan of black and white newspaper, for drying the windows, the newspaper aids as a "polish" that will leave a nice gloss to the window, and prevent streaks and line from linty cloth.

Note: Do not use "ShamWow!" products on your window lol. They may be good for other applications, but not for windows...I found that the particles would be left on my window...and have to follow up with the newspaper anyways.

I'm a super fan of the squeegee's at the gas station though, when they have solution in the buckets, that is (damn cheap skates). Just grab a paper towel to wipe off the squeegee of any debris after every "pass" so you aren't dragging dirt across your windshield.

LA's Totally Awesome has a "carpet spot and stain remover" spray, and I gotta say, it works wonders. I've used it on carpet stains, and furniture stains, and it's taken out any stain I've brought it's way, from make-up, eye liner pencil, kool-aid, etc.

I don't know exactly what the stuff has IN it, likely 2-butoxyethanol, or some "Oxygen" Cleaners....but the stuff works.

The important part is to get it when the stain is fresh, drench the stain with the solution, and then dab it up with a white/clean cloth, do not "scrub" the stain, as that will just grind the stain into the carpet/fabric fibers.

Fir vehicle upholstery (and regular cloth furniture too even) the "Tuff Stuff" sold at most auto-parts store (got mine at walmart, automotive department, bottom shelf for 2 dollars and some change) works wonders.

Take a whisk broom or vacuum to the fabric to get the big crumbs/crud off.
Spray on the foaming cleaner (not, be in a well-ventillated area, as this stuff does contain 2-butoxyethanol which is famous among "all purpose cleaners" and is supposidely really bad if/when in close areas).

Let the foam sit on the upholstery for 45-60 seconds, then wipe, or scrub away if necessary, depending on the stain.

Dry up the spot with a clean/white cloth. Reccomend terry cloth, 100% cotton.

And after that, cover those seats :)

For the cloth furniture in the house, I use my carpet cleaner machine, since it has upholstery tools, and just use it as directed by the How to Clean Carpets entry here :)

gotta say that was a good write-up. I've always been one to toss in a packet of Lemonaide kool-aid into my dish washer on the "Hot Start" (long wash) cycle. And it looks great afterwards.

Then it just takes a little elbow grease of wiping down the rubber gaskets, and "trim" where the door meets with the dishwasher. :) It amazes me the gunk that can build up in the dish washer...lol. But....well, with hard water (not that hard...since I've seen worse...) it does get dirty.

I've always been adding white vinegar to the "jet dry" port on my dishwasher, seems to dry my dishes a little bit better even lol.

I have found that those erasure cleaning pads do a great job without so much work.
My tub was damaged in a fire and a lot of the glazing is gone making it very difficult to keep clean.
Those "magic" erasures have saved by back.
I still use the baking soda and vinegar in the sink and also the toilet.

OK I.m new to this - blog - we have just purchased new house and we have granite/cultured granite tubs - the tubes are new, however, the buildier had filled them up with water during installation and you can see and feel a rough film from the residue while the tub was filled.

What is the best weay to clean this, we do not want to damage the tub with any kind of abrasive cleaing matrial, We tried a product called "Gel Coat" with no luck.

please respond to gdavenpotxs@yahoo.com...Thanks Gene
