How to Clean a Fiberglass Shower

Cleaning a fiberglass shower isn't all that different than cleaning other types of bathroom fixtures, such as acrylic tubs or other showers. I have listed here an alternative method that's specifically geared toward cleaning a fiberglass shower.
Cleaning a Fiberglass Shower
Gather your fiberglass shower cleaning materials. The four things you will need to clean a fiberglass shower are a sponge, white vinegar, baking soda, and a spray bottle. Fill the spray bottle about half full with the vinegar, and add another water until the bottle is 3/4 full. Put the cap back on the spray bottle and shake well to mix. You are now ready to clean a fiberglass shower . . . or really annoy your pets.
Rinse the fiberglass shower. Remove the usual bric-a-brac from your shower (shampoo bottles, soap, loofah-type implements, etc.). Using either your shower attachment or the sponge, thoroughly rinse the walls and floor of your fiberglass shower. Take care to remove any loose dirt or dust with the water.
Spray down the fiberglass shower. Use your mixture of vinegar and water to spray down the walls and floor of your fiberglass shower. Be diligent and thorough, taking care to spray into corners. If you have any difficult stains on vertical surfaces that you wish to focus on, simply spray a little extra solution directly above the stain. Gravity will take over and pull the solution through the affected area. Let this sit for 10–15 minutes.
Clean your fiberglass shower. Rinse your sponge in the sink. Then, pour some baking soda into a bowl, dab the sponge into it, and begin to scrub the shower. Given the nature of vinegar and baking soda, you should expect a chemical reaction similar to a science fair volcano, but to a lesser degree. Use the foam to your advantage, and focus on stained regions. Continue until you have covered all surfaces of your fiberglass shower.
Rinse your fiberglass shower. Once you've scrubbed the entire shower, rinse your sponge in the shower or nearby sink, squeezing out any residual baking soda and vinegar. Then, use the sponge or shower attachment to rinse the walls and floor of your fiberglass shower fixture. Be certain to rinse thoroughly and entirely so as to avoid a baking soda crust if it is left to dry.
Fiberglass Shower Soft Scrub Recipe
My wife and I have used this method on our showers and tubs over the past few years. It creates a potent, all-natural soft scrub that, while not as strong as Scrubbing Bubbles or other brands, is environmentally friendly and safe to use without rubber or latex gloves. It comes with the added benefit of missing those harsh chemicals found in many cleaning products.
Go into this with the assumption that you will make more soft scrub than you need, and you will store the surplus for future use. Take a reasonable container, such as a glass jar that has a lid, and pour in 1 tablespoon of your favorite brand of eco-friendly, liquid dish soap (Seventh Generation, LifeTree, or Method). Add a little baking soda at a time, and begin mixing together. Your goal is to create a thick, sticky paste, so you can add water to help with the consistency, if necessary. Between the natural cleaning power of baking soda and the generated cleaning strength of liquid dish soap, you have a potent, one-two punch for cleaning a fiberglass shower or other bathroom fixture.
